Nicole Yanes (Opata Nation) on Food Sovereignty

Nicole Yanes, Opata Nation, is a youth representative of the International Indian Treaty Council and co-founder of the Light is Life Student Food Sovereignty Project at Arizona State University.

Yanes was a speaker at the third annual Food Sovereignty Summit held by the Oneida Nation, First Nations Development Institute and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, October 26-29, 2015, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The summit is a forum for sharing and collaboration to build healthy food systems within our communities.
